Unbowed and Unbent

As the search for Aemond and Vhagar continues, Daemon investigates a wave of murders among Rhaenyra's City Watch. He first suspects smallfolk angered by the crown's crackdowns, but after torturing one of the captured killers he learns that Ormund Hightower paid for the deaths, and that Ormund has declared Daeron king at Tumbleton and is minting coins bearing his likeness. Daemon then finds Ser Luthor Largent and several watchmen gruesomely slain, their bodies staged around a table beneath the words "A Feast for Traitors". Alicent, fearing for Helaena's unborn child, has Orwyle prepare moon tea, but Helaena refuses to end her pregnancy. Mysaria foils the pair's escape attempt and discovers the pregnancy, and Alicent offers her favor to keep it secret; mother and daughter later slip into a hidden passage beneath the Red Keep but become trapped.

At Harrenhal, Alys helps Aemond recover, and though he despairs that he is nothing without Vhagar, he kills the bounty hunters who attack Alys. Aegon and Larys reach Rook's Rest, where Tyland Lannister joins them; Larys berates Aegon for blaming others for his failings, and Aegon stabs the man who humiliated him after his hidden crown betrays his identity. In the Riverlands, Criston and Gwayne harry Oscar Tully's army with ambushes, killing Lord Petyr Piper, but reach the bridge south too late and find it burned; Criston resolves to die in battle, and Gwayne abandons him. Addam and Baela scour the Riverlands for Aemond, finding a town destroyed by Vhagar.
